Upstate New York Nature Preserve

In April, we took a trip to a local preserve to find many exciting sights such as this very old, uprooted tree. The past year has brought lots of snow and rain, which has led to a very high water table and an extreme rise in the Hudson River. This was a low area that retained lots of water and could potentially turn into a pond or swamp. This was before the leaves started coming in and so everything is covered in mud and still grey. Beautifully quiet, the only things moving that we noticed were the birds and a turtle.
